Baptism is about the way Jesus washes away our sin! A person gets water poured on them to symbolise the way we are cleansed and forgiven and given a new start with God.
At Emu Plains Anglican Church we love to baptise new believers into the Christian faith. Often this is done when somebody comes to trust Jesus as an adult. It can also happen when a baby is born into a family that intends to raise them as a Christian.
In the case of baby (or 'infant') baptisms, Parents and Godparents are making some big promises. They will declare that they trust Jesus, and that they intend to raise their child to know and love Jesus. It is most suitable for people who are active Christians, or who are willing to take part in a short course on the basics of trusting and following Jesus.
Where Baptism is not suitable, we are happy to conduct a Thanksgiving Service. In this special service we thank God for the wonder of this new life, and pray for the child and everybody who will be involved in their upbringing.
All Baptisms at EPAC are done as part of our regular Sunday services, at a time that works for both the family and also the wider Church.
At this time we can only accept requests for baptisms from families who live in the Emu Plains - Emu Heights - Leonay area, or who are regular members of our church. We may also accept requests from people out-of-area where there is an existing strong relational link to our church community.
Congratulations on your engagement!
Unfortunately, due to staff availabilities, we cannot accept any new bookings for weddings at this time.
If you would like us to recommend other churches in the area that may be able to take your wedding, please contact the Church Office.
The death of a loved one is always hard - the Bible assures us that death is an intruder into our world, and so it makes sense that we would be upset by it. The Bible also assures us that, thanks to Jesus, there is real hope in the face of death.
We are honoured to be asked to care for a family during their time of grief by conducting a funeral service.

Due to the short timeframe that applies to most funerals, there are unfortunately times that we cannot take a funeral, because our facilities or our staff are locked in to other commitments. That said, we do try to be as accommodating as possible, and find that if a family can be flexible with dates and times we can often find a solution that works for all parties.
Our Historic Church building can seat up to 100 guests comfortably, while our Auditorium can seat up to 300 guests.
